    Default Computer up and running!

    Well, got all my parts in late Monday. Spent part of Christmas day putting it together and getting it up and running. I got the drivers installed for the basic stuff, just enough done to try out Crysis and Call of Duty 4. All I can say is.. WOW! Those games look AMAZING and ran silky smooth.

    Now comes the hard part of remembering how to get all of my flight sim stuff working properly again... My IL-2 folders were on a seperate hard drive, so I won't have to worry about installing it and redoing the settings. But I'll have to get my CH Stick/Throttle/Pedals installed and TrackIR with all the settings. I can't wait to see how IL-2 runs. Then there are all the other little crap that you forgot you installed. This is the part I hate, getting a new or formatted computer back up to standard. Once I do, I'll want to try this overclocking thing. Speaking of that, Deacon, that Artic Feezer 7 is HUGE!!!!

    I know but it sure does keep things COOL especially if you can angle one of your fans to blow against it

    The Freezer Pro 7 is what I have been using for a while, it works great! My temps never rise more than 7 or 8 degrees Celsius under load with that cooler, its big, but very quiet.

    Duck,

    Save yourself some time and trouble -- try these in your OpenGL section of the config.ini file:

    Code:
    [Render_OpenGL]
    TexQual=3
    TexMipFilter=3
    TexCompress=2
    TexFlags.UseDither=1
    TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
    TexFlags.UseIndex=0
    TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0
    TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
    TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
    TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
    TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
    TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
    TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
    TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
    TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
    TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
    TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
    TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

    TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
    TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
    TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
    TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
    TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

    HardwareShaders=1

    Shadows=2
    Specular=2
    SpecularLight=2
    DiffuseLight=2
    DynamicalLights=1
    MeshDetail=2
    VisibilityDistance=3

    Sky=2
    Forest=2
    Water=4
    LandShading=3
    LandDetails=2

    LandGeom=2
    TexLarge=1
    TexLandQual=3
    TexLandLarge=1

    VideoSetupId=3

    PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.0625
    PolygonOffsetUnits=-1.0
    Effects=2
    ForceShaders1x=0
    With your new system these should work fine. Set your in-game video options to "Excellent" and "Perfect" where possible (although these settings should take care of that for you).

    For others --- these are for nVidia 8800 GTx only.

    How could you possibly shoot at him?
