|Profile:||Welcome to the 352nd Fighter Group, the best group on the net!!
As Commanding Officer, I'm glad you stopped by to read about us and consider joining us in the fun. My real name is Nick and I've been married for 34 years, have two grown daughters and live in Connecticut, USA, where the Connecticut River enters Long Island Sound. Being on the ocean, I've been involved in sub simulations also but have become hooked on flight sims for some time now. The history of WWII is one of my hobbies as is fishing. Big band music, especially Glenn Miller, my favorite, is constantly being played in my home and office, so I'm always being transported back to the era of the game.
I've been CO of the group since May of 2001 and have orchestrated the transition of the group from CFS to IL2/PF, our current flight sim. While I don't consider myself one of the best fighter pilots of the group, don't turn your back on me in a dogfight. I fly all the planes in the sim, especially the bombers, and enjoy the strategy of a bomb run, with all its planning and navigation, as well as a good dogfight. As I said, while I'm not one of the best fighter pilots, my organizational skills usually place me in a flight leader's seat during a BRUN (bomb run).
I do enjoy flying the P-51D and the P-38s, along with a few of the Bf 109's, Mig3 and the IL2 itself. If you join and are on my side during a dogfight or brun, your orders are hereby issued and are direct - protect your CO at all costs. Also, for any new members, my ground crew has a habit of "borrowing" wheels, tires and landing gear parts from all your new planes to replace those I damage with all my continual "hot" landings in whatever plane I fly (CO's prerogative).
Again welcome to the 352nd, YOU'VE SEEN THE REST, NOW JOIN THE BEST.
CO 352nd Deacon
